Filmed over the 1964-65 school year with an eight thousand-dollar budget, funded in part by the University of Toronto student council and personal debt and featuring a cast of students - the four leads had acted with Hart House Theatre - the film deals with a shy, awkward freshman, Peter, coming to the U. of T. He is befriended by Doug, a popular student, who takes him under his wing until Peter begins a relationship with Sandra whom he met during auditions with the drama club. An ambiguous homosexuality is implied in the relationship between Doug and Peter.
